Carmel Catholic High School is located in the village of Mundelein, Illinois—a vibrant community of nearly 32,000 residents seated in the heart of Lake County and easily accessible from all directions. As part of our commitment to helping your family explore the value of a Catholic education, we welcome a visit to our 55-acre campus and invite you to learn more about our admissions programs using the drop-down menus, below.
The Carmel Catholic High School entrance examination is offered to current 8th graders (2020-21 school year) who have not tested at any other Catholic high school within the Archdiocese of Chicago. Students will complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT), the results of which will be used for admission to Carmel; initial course placement in math, science, and English; and merit scholarship consideration.
 
If your current 8th grade student (2020-21 school year) has not yet completed an entrance examination at Carmel Catholic High school, or at any other school located within the Archdiocese of Chicago, CCHS will offer a HSPT testing event on December 5th, 2020. *Carmel Catholic High School is currently assessing the feasibility of an in-person entrance examination that meets all CDC health and safety guidelines, as well as adheres to IDPH group event regulations. In the event that an in-person entrance examination cannot be held, an online HSPT assessment opportunity will be offered to prospective students.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit the campus of Carmel Catholic High School as part of our Corsairs Connection program. Your 7th or 8th grade child will be paired with a current Carmel Catholic student, who will guide your son or daughter through the welcoming halls of our high school. Visiting students will interact with their future classmates and teachers, as well as enjoy a complimentary meal from the Carmel Cafe.
 
Who Can Visit With Us?
The Corsairs Connection program is open to all 7th and 8th grade students who are considering Carmel Catholic as part of their high school discernment process. 8th grade students are permitted to visit year-round, while 7th grade opportunities are limited to the spring semester only. Prospective high school transfer students must contact the admissions office prior to registering for a Corsairs Connection event at CCHS.
 
What Should I Expect?
For the duration of the fall semester, Corsairs Connections events will be held after school, on Monday and Thursday afternoons, from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Following a brief admissions presentation, our student guests will explore the CCHS campus with their assigned Carmel Catholic guide, pausing along the way to view classrooms, meet with faculty members, and share a meal as they trace an academic schedule.
 
How do I Schedule a Visit?
Students who wish to participate in the Corsairs Connection program must register with our admissions team at least two school days in advance of their preferred visit date. Please note that event attendance is limited to 10 students per school day and, in addition to completing an online registration form, families of prospective students will be required to submit a brief COVID symptom screening upon arriving to campus.

Carmel Catholic High School invites your family to explore our campus by registering for a guided tour, presented by a member of the CCHS admissions team. Prospective families will journey through the halls that have welcomed generations of Corsairs, as well as receive an insider's look at the future of the Carmel campus. For the duration of the fall semester, campus tours are limited to Wednesdays and visitors must register in advance as attendance is limited. In-person and virtual tour opportunities are available.

Prospective families are encouraged to attend a virtual open house event in order to learn more about the academic, athletic, and spiritual programming afforded to Carmel Catholic students. Welcomed guests will interact with our administration, faculty, and students, as well as our Parent Ambassadors, who will seek to inform and inspire. Virtual open house events are scheduled for September 26th, October 24th, and November 21st and are open to all inquiring families. Interested parties must register in advance.

As a Catholic institution, Carmel is committed to making a college preparatory education available to all who wish to share in our mission. To assist prospective families, we invite discerning parents to attend a virtual financial aid seminar, where information regarding the cost of attendance and financial assistance will be presented. For the duration of the fall semester, virtual financial aid seminars will be offered weekly, on Wednesdays, and are open to all inquiring families. Interested parties must register in advance.

The Carmel Catholic High School Parent Ambassador Program provides prospective families with an opportunity to learn more about CCHS from the unique perspective of those who know it best—the Corsairs community. We invite inquiring parents to learn more about upcoming social events, as well as to connect with our Parent Ambassadors in a manner that is comfortable, confidential, and convenient for your family.

To register for any of our admissions events, families must complete an inquiry form using the link below. In addition to allowing our team to share information about scheduled programs and life as a Corsair, completing an inquiry form will grant prospective families access to the Admissions Portal, where they will be able to sign-up for events as they are announced.
