We invite your family to explore the value of a Carmel Catholic education by attending any of our upcoming Admissions events.
The entrance exam is offered to 8th-grade students seeking admission to Carmel Catholic High School. Prospective students will complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT), the results of which will be used for admission to Carmel Catholic, initial course placement in math, science, and English, and merit scholarship consideration. The test is available to students who have not tested at any other Catholic high school within the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Explore our sprawling 55-acre campus by registering for a guided tour, led by a member of the Carmel Catholic admissions team. Journey through the halls that have welcomed generations of Corsairs, and receive an insider's look at the future of the Carmel Catholic campus. Campus tours are offered weekly on Wednesdays at 8 am and 11:45 am. All visitors must register in advance. Prospective students spend a day on campus alongside a current Carmel Catholic student as they immerse themself in our community, attend classes, and witness the joy and friendship that permeate through our hallways.
 
Who Can Visit With Us?
During the fall semester, the Shadow Day program is open to 8th grade students as well as prospective high school transfer students entering grades 9, 10 and 11. Starting in January, 7th grade students are welcome to shadow. 
 
What Should I Expect?
Visiting students will interact with their future classmates and teachers as they trace an academic schedule, and will enjoy a complimentary lunch from the cafeteria. Shadow Days are be offered on most school days and are held from 7:45 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. Please register online at least two school days in advance.
 
Who Will My Child Shadow?
You have two options – request a specific student as your child's guide, or provide us with some of your child's interests and we will pair them up with a wonderful student guide.
 
How do I Schedule a Visit?
Parents must register their child online at least two school days in advance of their preferred visit date.

We’re excited to invite 7th and 8th graders to join us for an unforgettable day of discovery at Carmel Catholic High School! This event offers a unique opportunity for students to explore our Performing Arts programs, giving them a taste of what Carmel Catholic offers.

  • Time: 7:45 AM – 12:30 PM (Performing Arts)
  • Who: 7th and 8th Graders
  • Location: Carmel Catholic High School
  • Includes: Interactive activities, campus tour, Q&A with current students, and lunch.

 

Performing Arts Immersion Day offers your student the opportunity to explore the dynamic performing arts programs at Carmel Catholic, including band, choir, and dance. Whether your student is experienced or just curious, they can customize their experience by selecting four hands-on sessions across different performing arts areas.

Session Overview & Descriptions:

Session 1 Options:

  • (Band) Jazz Improvisation – Discover the language of jazz and learn improvisation with our student musicians. (Bring your instrument!)
  • (Choir) Parkway Singers A Capella – Learn a contemporary a cappella piece with ensemble members.
  • (Dance) Hip Hop – Get moving with a fun hip-hop routine. (Gym shoes required.)

Session 2 Options:
  • (Band) Playing Music with Confidence – Master rhythm reading through subdivision. (Bring your instrument!)
  • (Choir) Cadence – Experience show choir with singing and dancing. (Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.)
  • (Dance) Tap Dancing – Learn basic tap techniques. (Tap shoes encouraged but not required.)

Session 3 Options:
  • (Band) Marching Band – Find out how fun and easy marching band can be. (Bring your instrument!)
  • (Choir) Liturgical Choir – Join the music we sing for all-school Masses.
  • (Dance) Musical Theatre – Combine storytelling, singing, and acting.

Session 4 Options:
  • (Band) Introduction to Guitar – Play popular songs with four simple chords. (No experience needed; guitars provided.)
  • (Choir) Caroling Choir – Learn songs for seasonal performances.
  • (Dance) Jazz Dance Technique – Practice fundamental jazz techniques. (Dance experience encouraged.)

  • Location: Carmel Catholic High School
  • Includes: Interactive activities, campus tour, Q&A with current students, and lunch.
 
During World Language Immersion Day, your student will explore our Spanish, French, and Latin programs through fun, interactive sessions. The day also includes a tour of our classrooms and time to meet current students, giving your student a real sense of our world-class language learning environment.

This immersive experience offers a unique chance for your student to discover language learning in a fun, engaging environment while seeing how Carmel Catholic’s programs prepare them for real-world communication.
As a Catholic institution, Carmel Catholic is committed to making a college preparatory education available to all who wish to share in our mission. To assist prospective families, we invite parents to attend a financial aid seminar, where information regarding the cost of attendance and financial assistance will be presented. Experience Carmel Catholic at Open House, held each year in November. During your visit, you will take a student-led tour of our campus as you learn more about our innovative programming that guides and supports individual pursuits while challenging students to embrace all they can become. Interacting with countless Carmel Catholic community members along the way, you will see firsthand the pride and enthusiasm of our students, faculty, staff and families.
