Two Priest Chaplains Join Carmel Catholic Community

Fr. Radley Alcantara, Associate Pastor at St. Anastasia Parish in Waukegan and Fr. Christian Shiu, Associate Pastor at St. Gilbert Parish in Grayslake will begin serving at Carmel in early September. They will each be on campus to minister to students as well as adults on a part-time​ basis. Both are excited to be a part of the community!

Open House on November 3 to Showcase Carmel Catholic's Unique Academic Experience

Prospective students and their families are encouraged to attend our Open House on Sunday, November 3 from noon–3 pm to learn more about our school community. Discover Carmel Catholic's unique high school experience, including programs that support academic, social and spiritual growth, as you tour our campus and meet our faculty, staff and students. Free giveaways, free food, and so much to explore.

Carmel Catholic is moving forward with some of the most sweeping changes in the school’s history. Expansion and refinement of several academic programs, design and implementation of a modern classroom aesthetic, and completion of key projects already in the works, characterize the initiative which is slated to be in place by Fall 2021.

Terri Brinkman '20 Honored by Congressman as Local STEM Scholar

Terri Brinkman '20 was recently honored by Congressman Brad Schneider for being part of his inaugural class of STEM scholars. Congressman Schneider selected local high school students that are STEM leaders in their school to represent his Illinois tenth district for the 2018-2019 school year.

Kevin Matthews, the famous Chicago radio DJ and personality, will share his amazing story of finding a broken statue by a dumpster and how it changed his life.

The Second City – October 19, 7–10 p.m.
Come join neighbors and friends for an evening of improvised comedy from the masters of the form as Carmel Catholic High School hosts the current cast members of The Second City for a fundraiser benefitting the school’s auditorium renovation project.

N.Y.A.N. Robotics Honored by Mundelein Mayor

Carmel Catholic's World Champion N.Y.A.N. Robotics team was recognized by the mayor of Mundelein on Monday, June 24 for winning the 2019 FIRST Tech Challenge Championship.

"N.Y.A.N. Robotics was the first team in the State of Illinois to win the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship, and the team’s performance reflects highly upon its members, Carmel Catholic High School, the Village of Mundelein, and the State of Illinois," read the mayoral proclamation.

Joe Nemmers ’73 Receives First Annual President's Outstanding Service Award

Joe Nemmers ’73, Chair of the Board of Directors, received the first annual President's Outstanding Service Award during an appreciation dinner for Board members, donors and volunteers held in early June. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the Carmel Catholic community in ways which far exceed expectations or any generalities.

Carmel Catholic Named 'Project Lead The Way' Distinguished School

Carmel Catholic High School has been recognized as a "Project Lead The Way" Distinguished School. This recognition means that more than 20 percent of Carmel Catholic students have enrolled in an engineering course. Carmel Catholic is now among 23 high schools/districts in Illinois to have achieved this.
