Carmel Sweeps Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge, Captures All High School Titles

This past Sunday, several Carmel students showcased their talents at the Mundelein Mayor’s Cup STEM Challenge, held at Mundelein High School. This engaging and educational competition—sponsored by the Village of Mundelein and local businesses—brought together middle and high school students from across the community to test their skills in mathematics and engineering. Participants had the opportunity to compete in either a rigorous one-hour math exam or a fast-paced 45-minute engineering instant design challenge. Carmel students rose to the occasion, earning an impressive collection of medals, trophies, and cash prizes.

Carmel proudly won all high school divisions, taking home the prestigious traveling Mayor’s Cup trophies in JV Mathematics, Varsity Mathematics, and Engineering. Once this year’s placards are added, the trophies will be displayed in JT’s classroom. This marks yet another year in a strong tradition of Carmel excellence at the Mayor’s Cup.

Top individual and team performers included:

  • Varsity Mathematics: Avi Garg
  • JV Mathematics: Colin Bauer
  • Engineering: Blocks of Computational Steel — Adrian Kowalik, Alan Dlimbetov, Michael Dzierzanowski, Tony Wang, and Jaden Enkhbayer

Congratulations to all of our participants for representing Carmel with excellence, determination, and skill!
