Andrea was nominated by a peer in recognition of her outstanding example of service, integrity, and commitment to Catholic education and the values of the Catholic faith. The award’s planning committee noted the exceptional dedication Andrea demonstrates within the local community, as well as her leadership rooted in faith and service to others.
The Mother Mary Lange Award celebrates high school students who embody the spirit and mission of Catholic education, inspired by the legacy of Mother Mary Lange, founder of the Oblate Sisters of Providence and a pioneer in Catholic education. Recipients are recognized for their leadership, commitment to justice, and devotion to serving the Church and their communities.
Andrea will be honored during the African American Heritage Prayer Service on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. The prayer service, which will welcome approximately 1,100 attendees, will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. During the celebration, Mr. Greg Richmond, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, will formally present the award.
This recognition highlights not only Andrea's personal leadership journey but also the continued impact of Carmel Catholic faculty and staff who live out the mission of faith, service, and excellence.
