From Carmel, we had four talented artists who created and submitted artwork to the District 10th art competition. The artist names and titles of their pieces are as follows: Jennifer Dicks 19’ submitted Depression, Paige Fitch 19’ submitted Heavy Layers, Rebecca Unze 20’ submitted Out of the Blue, and Sofir Fernandez 21’ submitted Star Jar. The students artwork was dropped off at Brad Schneider’s office in Lincolnshire and then was displayed in a multipurpose room at CLC.
On Wednesday, April 24th, the participating artists and their families were invited to a reception to see all of the artwork on display. During the reception, the talented artists also received special recognition for their participation in the contest; Brad Schneider, after giving an opening speech, individually called forth all participating artists, shook their hand, handed them their certificate, and took a picture with them. Finally, Brad Schneider spoke with all students to learn more about their thought process when creating their composition to visually expresses character.
