Laudato Si

In 2015 Pope Francis issued his papal encyclical entitled Laudato Si.  It is a call to all people of good will to an ecological conversion. More recently, the Vatican created the Laudato Si action platform to encourage, support and track progress at the family, parish and school level. On the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, October 4, 2022, Dr. Bonham registered Carmel Catholic High School onto the Laudato Si action platform.

Carmel has its own Laudato Si garden that was installed in 2021. This garden consists of native plants that support the local ecosystem. Students start the plants from seed and help care for the garden throughout the year. Flowers are used for liturgical purposes and for decoration in the school.
