Congratulations to Coach Halford and the Carmel Catholic Girls Track & Field program on a State-Qualifying performance at the IHSA Class 2A Sectional Championship, hosted by Genoa-Kingston High School on May 15.
The Corsairs punched their ticket to Charleston and the 2026 IHSA State Finals with a 2nd-Place finish in the 4x200 Relay—as well as 3rd-Place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events—and will depart on May 21 for back-to-back days of competition against schools from across Illinois. Members of the of 4x100 and 4x200 relays include Maliyah Mays, Madison Harris, Natalie Ferguson, and Leanna Bell, while the 4x400 team features Sadie Chebny, Brailyn Albanese, Natalie Ferguson, and Leanna Bell.
