Carmel Catholic Awarded $18,000 Grant to Expand Student Mental Health Initiatives

Carmel Catholic High School has been awarded an $18,000 grant from Meg Butz Legacy of Hope to enhance mental health and suicide awareness programming throughout the school. The grant, made possible through the efforts of our Student Wellness Specialist, will support a variety of meaningful initiatives, including mental health-focused speakers for wellness days, certification in Mental Health First Aid, and the purchase of training materials. It will also fund monthly, student-centered activities in the new student center—helping create a welcoming environment where every student feels seen, supported, and safe.

Megan Butz was a 2012 graduate of Carmel Catholic who passed away in 2020. In her memory, her family and friends established this organization to strengthen the lives of at-risk youth and young adults so they may feel mentally healthy and receive needed mental health programming and support.
