Corsairs Capture IHSA State Runner-Up Trophy, Add to Historic Gymnastics Legacy

Following Friday's preliminaries, Carmel found itself just 0.175 points back of Prairie Ridge—a cooperative program combining gymnasts from Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South, and Prairie Ridge high schools—and the Corsairs would take the lead for a brief moment with clutch performances from Alyssah Arends and Maddie Doyle in Saturday's Individual Finals before the judges' tallies moved Prairie Ridge back ahead by the slimmest of margins to close competition.

For their efforts, Arends and Doyle captured two of the five medals awarded to the state's best vaulters, with Alyssah claiming 2nd-place and Maddie earning 5th. The Runner-Up finish was the Gymnastics program's second such placement in the State Finals, and the team's 10th IHSA trophy, dating back to 1991.

Congratulations again to our incredible gymnasts and coaches on yet another historic season for the most prolific private school program in all of Illinois!
