Freshman Admissions

Carmel Catholic High School is currently accepting applications for new members of the Class of 2028. Step-by-step instructions and additional guidance can be found below, and our Admissions Team is available to answer questions or provide assistance.
Step 1: Apply Online
Prospective students must complete an application for admission. If you are new to Carmel Catholic High School, you will first be asked to complete an inquiry form. Once your inquiry has been processed by our team, an email will be sent with a link to the Carmel Catholic Admissions Portal, where you will be able to submit a formal application.
Step 2: Submit Student Records
Applicants must submit student records to the Carmel Catholic Admissions Office for review. Families should download the Records Release form and complete all required fields before submitting to their student's current school for processing. Requested documents include:
  • Report cards from 7th and 8th grade
  • Standardized test scores from 7th and 8th grade
  • Discipline records, if applicable
  • Support service documents, if applicable
Step 3: Visit Campus
Prospective students are encouraged to take advantage of our diverse programming options designed to provide inquiring families with an opportunity to experience Carmel Catholic High School and learn more about life as a Corsair. Event information will be communicated to students who have completed a formal inquiry form and application, but families may also visit the link below to explore upcoming programs.

Step 4: Take the Entrance Exam
The Carmel Catholic High School entrance exam is offered to 8th grade students who have not tested at any other Catholic high school within the Archdiocese of Chicago. Prospective students will complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT), the results of which will be used for admission to Carmel; initial course placement in math, science, and English; and merit scholarship consideration.
 
If your current 8th grade student has not yet completed an entrance exam at Carmel Catholic High School, or at any other school located within the Archdiocese of Chicago, they are eligible to take the exam.
