Carmel Catholic offers driver’s education through Fresh Green Light, an Illinois DMV Certified Driver Education Program. The basic program meets all of the Illinois DMV requirements for issuance of a driver’s license and includes eight hours of private, behind-the-wheel lessons, and 30 hours of classroom instruction taught at Carmel Catholic.
The next classes held are August 19–October 21, 2019 and October 21–December 11, 2019.
What is Fresh Green Light at Carmel Catholic?
Fresh Green Light is an Illinois DMV Certified Driver Education Program. We have developed a more effective, more convenient, and more fun way to learn to drive. We’re committed to delivering the best customer experience possible for new teen drivers and their parents.
What does the program include?
The basic program meets all of the Illinois DMV requirements for issuance of a driver’s license and includes 8 hours of private, behind-the-wheel lessons, and 30 hours of classroom instruction taught right in a Carmel Catholic High School classroom.
When is the next session?
Check Fresh Green Light's online calendar for class times and availability. Each student will receive 8 hours of private behind-the-wheel lessons. Lessons will be available Monday – Friday from 2:30-7 p.m. built around classroom instruction times.
Who is eligible to participate in the program?
Any current Carmel High School student who is 15 years old, or will turn 15 years old before the final day of the registered class session may enroll in the program.
What is the cost?
The cost for the program is $625, a portion of which will be donated back to Carmel Catholic High School.
