Carmel Catholic Bus Routes 2020-21

Due to the potential for the continuation of e-Learning next school year, CCHS wants to reassure all bus subscription holders that partial refunds may be issued for days that we are not physically in the building. If you have any questions regarding this matter please contact Jeff Ptacek at jptacek@carmelhs.org.

In order for CCHS to prepare for possible COVID-19 restrictions on Public Transportation, please complete our survey. The two PACE routes that service CCHS are PACE #572 and #574.

Mundelein High School District Buses

Carmel students living within the boundaries of the Mundelein High School District are transported by the local high school district bus from their neighborhood to the public school. They are then transported to Carmel. The process is reversed in the afternoon. There is no charge for this service. This service runs on days when the public high school is in session.

The Mundelein bus routes will bring students to the west side of Mundelein High School. The shuttle bus will stay until 7:30 a.m. when it will leave for Carmel. In the afternoon, the shuttle will pick up at the Salvi Arena at 3:05 p.m. and will take the students back to Mundelein High School for their afternoon routes. Learn more at d120.org.

Carpooling

Carmel Catholic has partnered with CarpooltoSchool, the online carpool service that's fast, easy and secure. Parents who wish to start or join a carpool can connect online at Carmel's exclusive carpool webpage, or via the CarpooltoSchool mobile app. CarpooltoSchool gives parents a safe, easy way to form or join a carpool, bikepool or walkpool, and its intuitive interface makes planning easy and convenient. CarpooltoSchool is a free service offered to the Carmel community.

Features include a secure matching service integrated with Google maps, scheduling, and built-in text messaging to remind parents when it's their turn to drive. When you schedule your carpool on CarpooltoSchool, your entire carpool can quickly view a color-coded calendar with all of your carpool information. Maximum scheduling flexibility can handle even the craziest of carpool schedules.

PACE and Metra Transportation

Students residing in the Fox Lake, Ingleside, Round Lake, Highland Park and Deerfield areas have several options in regard to public transportation. They may take the Metra Milwaukee District North line from their community train station to Libertyville and then transfer to PACE Route 574 to come to Carmel.

Students residing in the Antioch, Lake Villa, Round Lake Beach, Prairie Crossing and Libertyville areas may take the Metra North Central Service line to the Mundelein station and either walk, use PACE route 574, or use the van shuttle service to get to Carmel.

Pace transportation is available from the following communities:
Fox Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainesville, Libertyville, Mundelein, North Chicago, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake, Waukegan and Zion.

If you are using PACE during the school special runs, you will be using strictly Route 572. For other times during the day, Route 572 goes from the Waukegan Metra Station to College of Lake County and Route 574 goes from College of Lake County to Carmel.
