Nurturing Support for Teen Mental Health: Matt Bellace, Ph.D., to Visit Carmel Catholic
At Carmel Catholic High School, we continuously strive to provide our students and parents with the necessary tools to support their well-being. That's why we are thrilled to announce that Matt Bellace, Ph.D., renowned speaker, comedian, and best-selling author, will be joining us on May 2 and 3 to discuss teen mental health. This event will feature separate presentations for parents and students, offering valuable insights and guidance on reducing stress and promoting healthy coping mechanisms.
Carmel Catholic High School Partners with Erika's Lighthouse to Support Teen Mental Health
In the face of alarming statistics regarding teen mental health, Carmel Catholic is taking action to support its students. The school has partnered with Erika's Lighthouse, a program dedicated to raising awareness and providing resources for adolescent depression. Through the Erika's Lighthouse Teen Empowerment Club, Carmel Catholic aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health. The program is helping students navigate these challenges and learn where to find support. Together, they are making a difference and providing hope for a brighter future.
Spanish National Honor Society Visits Elementary Schools for Story Time Sessions
For the second year in a row, the Spanish National Honor Society (SHH) at Carmel Catholic has organized story time sessions with pre-kindergarten to third grade students, creating a fun space for learning, language exploration, and joyful connection.

NYAN Robotics Shines at State, Heads Toward Worlds
Following their impressive performance at the State finals, NYAN Robotics will compete at the World competition, which will be held in late April in Houston, TX.
Jacqueline Caglar '24 Named a National Merit Finalist
The National Merit Scholarship Program has determined which of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2023 met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. Congratulations to Jacqueline Caglar '24 for being named a Finalist! The selection of 7,000 Merit Scholarship winners from the group of more than 15,000 Finalists is now in progress.
Carmel Catholic Students Receive Golden Rose Award
Four Carmel Catholic students received the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, Vicariate 1 Golden Rose Award on February 3. The Golden Rose is awarded annually to one young woman of high school age in each parish/school who demonstrates outstanding commitment to their Catholic faith, virtue, service, and leadership.

Carmel Catholic IT Department Partners with ITsavvy for Efficient Chromebook Repairs and Student Training
The Carmel Catholic IT Department has recently formed a valuable partnership with ITsavvy, aimed at improving the repair process for Chromebooks issued to the students. Since the collaboration began last school year, the IT Department has been able to provide incoming students with Chromebooks, ensuring they have the necessary tools for their academic journey. Moreover, this partnership has paved the way for the school's TSI (Technology Student Internship) students to gain hands-on experience in repairing Chromebooks, thanks to access to a parts bin on-site.
Girls Gymnastics Rolls to Regional Championship
On Monday evening, the Carmel Catholic Girls Gymnastics Team took to the fieldhouse of Stevenson High School in need of a minor miracle to extend their streak of consecutive IHSA Regional titles. Trailing by 36.6 points heading into the final event, the Corsairs claimed four of the floor exercise's top-six positions to earn 36.85 points and eke out a victory over the Blue Devils of Warren. The win sends CCHS to the IHSA Sectional round for a school-record 21st-consecutive competition season.
